The Bull pen:
Nintendo's long term earnings picture is positive. Hardware sales continue to be exceptional as the company cannot produce enough to meet demand. Anecdotally, many consumers prefer to wait for the Wii rather then purchase the PS3 or XBox. The DS handheld continues to sell well internationally as well as in Japan. More importantly, Nintendo produces many of the games on its consoles, so it's profit potential per a console is higher then Sony's. Since both the Wii and the DS have appeal to "non gamers" further growth seems likely.

Nintendo is expanding its customer base with the widely appealing Wii. The DS hand-held has sold exceptionally well in Japan, although other markets remain uncertain. So based on Wii sales and, more importantly, game sales, the NTDOY.PK should sell for around $63.
The BOJ is widely expected to raise rates when it meets on August 22-23rd, so downward pressure on the stock may persist for a couple of weeks. Nevertheless, I think that it's a buy at $55 and lower.

Nintendo leads the game industry in both platform and portable. (Wii, DS) Its increasing sales quarter after quarter and its ROE has been rising. This summer it has a lot of games coming out with many made by Nintendo so the sales are all accumulated instead of having to receive a portion of the income from a 3rd party. Go Nintendo.

Nintendo and Apple have very similar successful business models. Proprietary hardware and software, innovative design, user friendly and high margins. They both march to their own drummer and have rabid loyal customer bases. Ipod and Nintendo Gameboy/DS. Mario Brothers, Brainage, Nintendogs. Apple is nowhere in the video game business. I'm sorry but I am a die hard Nintendo fan being their right from the beginning. I instantly knew the Wii would reign over all the competing next-gen systems, the second I laid eyes on the beautiful controller. I watched the very first video of the controller (in use) on IGN a while back and have since then waited patiently for the Wii's launch. I was hoping Nintendo would finally regain it's thrown in the console wars with the launch of the Wii, and it has! Looking good, Nintendo.
