The dominant player in an increasingly exapanding sector.
Nuance holds 300-400 patents for their voice recognition technology, and has steadily been acquiring many direct competitors that solidify their foothold in the market. Acquisitions have been naturally hurting net cash flow, but income continues to rise along with fiscal projections and analysts recommendations.

Huge forward guidance based on strong fundamentals and product with great insider and institutional ownership.

Nuance Communications is taking over the voice/speech communication solutions marktet. They already own Dictaphone and Dragon Naturally Speaking. Voice recognition software and solutions for business is already big and will continue to grow. Technicals and price performance strong trading at all time high now. Company not showing it can make money yet but have had alot of acquisition costs. The investment interest (Bill Gates is a major shareholder) is mostly over the excitement of future of voice recognition rather than the fundamentals.

    NUAN logoNuance Communications (NUAN - option chain) shares are rising today after the company reported earnings last night, posting a fourth-quarter profit of $6.3 million, or 2 cents per share. Excluding one-time items, NUAN earned 32 cents per share on revenue of $275 million, beating analysts' forecasts of 29 cents per share on revenue of $272 million.     Nuance Communications (NUAN) this afternoon reported non-GAAP revenue for its fiscal fourth quarter ended September 30 of $275.7 million, slightly ahead of the Street at $272.1 million. Non-GAAP EPS of 32 cents beat the Street by 3 cents.

    In remarks prepared for the voice communications company’s post-earnings conference call and posted on its Web site, Naunce said it expects Q1 non-GAAP revenue of $260 million to $275 million, with non-GAAP EPS of 25-28 cents; the Street has been expecting $269.1 million and 27 cents.

    Nuance Stumbles As Wedbush Downgrades

    Nuance Communciations (NUAN) shares have taken a hit today, thanks to Wedbush Morgan analyst Scott Sutherland, who today cut his rating on the speech recognition company’s stock to Neutral from Outperform, while keeping his $17 price target. NUAN closed yesterday at $15.58.

    Nuance Acquires Voice-To-Text Provider Jott

    Nuance Communications (NUAN) today said it is acquiring Jott, a Seattle-based provider of voice-to-text services. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

    Investors in Jott included Ackerley Partners, Draper Richards and Atomico Investments, the venture investing arm of Skype co-founder Niklas Zenstrom.
