70% of the DRAM industry that manufacture memory for PCs, PDAs and cellphones have been found to have infringed Rambus patents via Summary Judgement.  The companies include Samsung, Hynix, Micron and Nanya.  Back damages from 2000 forward are more than one billion $ even before possible trebling for willful infringement.  Rambus also has an anti-trust / price fixing lawsuit against the same companies.  All have already pled guilty to the DOJ for price fixing and have paid millions in fines.  Damages could be in the range of 2-10 billion dollars.  Forward earnings when the companies either v...

this pick is based on the news that will come next 30 days in company litigations (they will win). After long time litigations are at the end and the company already won in different occasions now we are awaiting la last part of the litigation against the "bigs" Samsung, Micron, Hynix and more.

The gudge Whyte showed a great professionality and said clearly that Rambus can ask royalties. Now he has to decide on injunction and this will be the final end for Micron&Co.

<>Ambac Financial Group’s (ABK) third-quarter loss of $2.35 per share was wider than the Zacks Consensus Estimate of a loss of $1.22 per share. Last year, the company had reported a loss of $7.81 per share. Losses were driven by higher loss expenses in its Residential Mortgage Backed Securities (RMBS) insured portfolio.
 
Revenues came in at $2.7 billion, compared with negative revenues of $2.3 billion in the prior-year quarter. The improvement in revenues was brought about by $2.9 billion of unrealized gains in credit derivatives.

    Rambus Lifts Q3 Outlook

    Rambus (RMBS) this afternoon increased its third quarter revenue outlook.

    For the quarter, the semiconductor IP licensing company said it now sees revenue of $27 million to $28 million, above the previous forecast of $22 million to $25 million. Adjusted operating expenses are expected to be $41 million to $44 million, down from a previous estimate of $44 million to $49 million.

    The company said it saw higher-than-expected revenue as higher semiconductor shipments drove up royalty payments, while a delay in the company’s price-fixing trial reduced expenses.
