RSH: Is RadioShack Finally Worth Buying?

- I don’t expect RadioShack to grow.
- But it should be worth buying as long as they can limit their cash flow declines to 5% or so annually.
- Combined with a put-write strategy, it looks even better.
<> RadioShack (RSH) is a company investors love to hate, and it isn’t hard to see why. Stocked full of stuff you occasionally need but often find elsewhere, it represents the unsexy part of consumer technology – wires, batteries and cables that you forgot to pick up when you got the HDTV or game console at your local Circuit City (CC) or (more <>>><><>>><>><><>><>>><>><><>>><><>><>><>><>>><>><><>><>>><>><><>>><><>< />>><><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />>>< />...

When it was first announced back in July of 06 that Julian Day would be the new CEO of Radioshack (RSH), the stock went from $13 and change to $17 in one day! I was saying to myself, "that's a lot of hype. Can one person make a difference in a company? " Granted, he was part of the miraculous recovery helping Eddie Lampert revive Kmart to become Sears Holdings. Fast forward to now and it

Radio Shack Starts Selling iPhones; FBR Ups Target

Radio Shack (RSH) began quietly selling the Apple (AAPL) iPhone in 10 stores over the weekend, and FBR Capital Markets analyst Stephen Chick reports that “initial checks have been surprisingly favorable.” The analyst observes in a research note that at least 70% of the stories he surveyed reported selling at least one phone, despite zero advertising and limited in-store signage. He contends, moreover, that the iPhone “should raise awareness that RSH is a wireless seller.” <>Meanwhile, Chick thinks the Street consensus for the retailer’s Q4 results are too low: he sees 60 cents, above th><>><>><><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />>>< />...

RadioShack goes mobile, beats estimates
Filed under: Competitive strategy, RadioShack Corp (RSH) It's extremely tough to survive in the retail consumer electronics space, especially with competitors like Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) and Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT).
