Sprint To Offer Palm Pixi Nov. 15; Price At $99.99 After Rebates

Sprint (S) this morning announced that it will begin selling the Palm (PALM) Pixi on November 15, priced at $99.99 after a $50 instant rebate and a $100 mail-in rebate. The phone will sold through Sprint retail stores, as well as through Best Buy (BBY), Radio Shack (RSH) and some Wal-Mart (WMT) stores.
A follow-up to the Palm Pre, the Pixi is the second Palm phone that uses the company new WebOS operating system software.
PALM today is down 5 cents, at $14.87.

Radio Shack Q3 EPS Misses By A Penny; Comp Stores Down 2.9%

Radio Shack (RSH) this morning reported Q3 revenue of $990 million, down 3.1% year-over-year, but ahead of the Street at $961 million. EPS of 30 cents a share was a penny light of the Street consensus at 31 cents.
Same-store sales were down 2.9% from a year earlier.
In a statement, CFO Jim Gooch said that financial performance improved in the latter part of the quarter, “driven by our strong mobility business combined with an economy showing some signs of potential stabilization.”
