The first week trading week of September is over and now we can all sit back and enjoy Labor Day!

For the week overall, the S&P 500 fell -1.22%, Dow -1.08%, Nasdaq +0.49%, and the Russell 2000 -1.61%. To make the big money this week you had to be long gold (GDX) and silver (DBS). It also would have been helpful to be leveraged short crude oil (SCO), real estate (SRS) and financials (FAZ). Today's gain notwithstanding, it was also not a great week for the popular natural gas ETF (UNG).

Another High-Profile SAP Failure: State Of California

Yet another black eye for German software giant SAP (SAP).

Last month Jeweler Shane Co. blamed difficulties trying to get SAP software running as partly responsible for the company's bankruptcy. Now the State of California -- already in dire financial straits -- is giving up on its SAP implementation after sinking $25 million into the project and seeing nothing out of it.

More and more inverse / short ETFs are being launched by issuers nowadays. I have posted already article about reverse ETFs sorted in groups. At US stock exchanges you can find mostly exchange traded funds underlying equities with 1:1, double or triple leverage.

Today I would like to focus on commodity based short ETF. If you want to trade commodities and you are bearish this is the right product. Of course in case you don't trade futures contracts on commodity exchange.

Last week ProFunds debuted four new ETFs that provide short or leveraged exposure to gold or silver. Here are the details:

Perhaps the market will confound people and all of sudden the 6% days will be behind us now.

ProShares launched a bunch of new funds including double short yen (YCS), double short euro (EUO), double short broad commodities (CMD), double short crude oil (SCO), double long yen (YCL), double long euro (ULE), double long broad commodities (UCD) and double long crude oil (UCO).
