How much do you pay attention to the souces of all that Web metric data? If you do, you know for sure who comScore is. They provide Web measurements for new media and clients alike. This stock soared when it was recommended on CNBC so I am concerned at these levels, but this is a great company and a take-over target if i have ever seen one.

Internet M&A: More To Come

Acquisition activity in the Internet sector has been picking up - and the pace is likely to pick up from here, according to Collins Stewart analyst Sandeep Aggarwal. <>“In our view, this not only a signal of increasing confidence in economic recovery but also a major reinforcement that the Internet continues to experience high secular growth and is getting more widely adopted,” he writes in a research note “This secular adoption of the Internet creates need among the largest Internet companies and category leaders to view M&A not only to create a bigger fish net for their suite of offerings b><><>><>><>><>><>><>><>>><>><><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>><><><>>>>><><>><>><>><>><>><>><>>><><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />>>< />...

Needham analyst Mark May today raised his rating on ComScore (SCOR) to Buy from Hold, setting a price target of $20. The stock last week finished at $17.01. <>“ComScore has made important product strides in recent months that address concerns we’ve had in the past,” he writes in an intra-day research note. He notes that the company May launched Media Metrix 360, a panel-centric hybrid approach to audience measurement; today, he adds, the company launched a new partnership with Omniture that he says should speed the 360 offering to market by easing implementation for Omniture’s customers.><>><>><><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />><>< />>>< />...

Omniture: Other Bidders, Other Targets
Will anyone outbid Adobe (ADBE) for Omniture (OMTR)? Clearly, the Street thinks that is a possibility, given that OMTR shares are trading above the $21.50 a share that Adobe has agreed to pay for the Web analytics company. And some analysts agree that other interested buyers could emerge. <><>Collins Stewart analyst Sandeep Aggarwal this morning writes that other potential buyers include Microsoft (MSFT), Cisco (CSCO), and “a few IT consulting firms.” In Microsoft’s case, he contends that the company needs a robust Web analytics tool to match what Google (GOOG) offers.
