Since late January Schlumberger has been running up thanks to the run on oil. This appears to be the right thing. But the truth is it is the volume of oil  driven by a growing economy is what drives this company. As long as the American economy is weak there will be hesition in exploring the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska for new oil.

Schlumberger has had a great run in 2007. They can continue to perform well regardless of oil prices per se. Well managed company that is the blue chip of oil services sector. Great long-term investment. All the analysts agree.
