Spansion Delisted By Nasdaq; Stock Swoons

Spansion (SPSN) announced today that the stock will be delisted by Nasdaq at today’s close.

The NOR flash memory chip company, which is operating under Chapter 11 of the federal bankruptcy code, said that it is “making progress” on its restructuring plans. The company recently said it is focused on its embedded solutions and IP licensing market, and is seeking alternatives for its wireless business. The company said discussions with creditors “continue to progress.”

Micron Rallies As Barclays Upgrades To Overweight

Micron Technology (MU) shares are trading sharply higher after Barclays Capital analyst Tim Luke this morning upped his rating on the stock to Overweight from Equal Weight, while boosting his price target to $7, from $5.

Spansion Gets $70 Million In Samsung Patent Settlement

Spansion (SPSN) this afternoon announced that it will receive $70 million from Samsung to settle the patent litigation between the two companies. Spansion and Samsung will also cross license their patent portfolios. With Spansion in a Chapter 11 proceeding, the deal is subject to bankruptcy court approval.
