TransDigm Group Incorporated (TDG) reported fourth quarter 2009 earnings per share of 82 cents, beating the Zacks Consensus Estimate of 80 cents. Net sales for the quarter rose 4.3% to $197.4 million from $189.2 million in the comparable year-ago quarter. The favorable contribution from acquisitions was partially offset by a 4.6% decline in organic net sales.

Most Aircraft Suppliers Show Declining Short Interest

Unlike airline stocks, manufactures and suppliers to the aviation industry have not been amongst the most popular stocks with short sellers. This partly reflects longer order lead times, but also the more diversified range of market serviced by these companies. The index of short interest, shows a rising trend until early August and is now in decline.
