Share price has been rising as if all were well in the world and particularly at Terex. Hmm! MeanwhileTerex will not make any money this year and probably not next year. Even in the good times their operational margins were poor compared to their competitors ... <font> <> Like Gordon Brown’s government, Terex is currently trying to take credit for suddenly doing all the good management things that arguably it should have been doing all along. Of course few could have foreseen the scale of the current economic collapse that has impacted all business lines, but Terex went into the pr<>>><>><>><>><>><>>...

Demand for cranes is increasing, and new infrastructure initiatives set Terex up for solid returns as the global market stabilizes later this year. Combine that with S&P's recommendation and things look pretty good here.

Love thier fin. #s, preorders/backlog, still feel weakness in industrial support/machinery, but long term should be great.

A company that manufactures equipment for Mining, oil, building, and infrastructure that has been beaten up but still makes money. How can you go wrong? This is my favorite type of company since I believe the recessions are generally short lived and government spending on infrastructure is inevitable. This might have a bumpy ride for the next few months, but should be a winner by election time. P/E around 11 near historic range for this type of company leads me to believe that it is fairly valued for this economy but should accelerate going forward.

Is KHD Humboldt Wedag the Ultimate Emerging Market Value Play?
<>Until this article at Realmoney.com, I'd never heard of KHD Humboldt Wedag (KHD). KHD owns companies that operate internationally in the industrial plant engineering and equipment supply industry, and specializes in the cement processing industries. They have a negative enterprise value meaning that cash in the bank outnumbers the market cap. This is a pretty rare situation especially considering they are basically a emerging markets play with 95% of their backlog in Russia, Eastern Europe, Asia (mainly India), and the Middle East.
Back to why this stock made my radar. They fall into the sam>...

Terex to Benefit from Increased Infrastructure Spending
We originally recommended Terex Corp. (NYSE: TEX) on May 16, 2008 at $71.48. The stock closed Friday at $12.67. (All figures in U.S. dollars.) All the machinery companies, and Terex in particular, were hit hard in the market crash. Since the March lows, the stock has doubled but it still has a long way to go before it reaches its highs of last year.

Flood of Earnings Begin - Monday/Tuesday Preview

Long time readers will know our love/hate relationship with earnings season. As information hogs we love more data; but as stock market participants we hate the massive overreactions to companies based on 90 days of business and a penny here or there in earnings per share, or +/- 1-2% of revenue on the top line. But this is the only game in town and if certain companies should win or lose 20-30% of their market value within seconds of the all important press release is not up to us; this is the market "we've" created. So we'll gap up or down in many individual stocks, and the market as a...
