By Braunie: TNK was one I liked as they have pre-sold much of their 2009 and 2010 capacity and they seem to be in reasonable financial shape in a very beaten-down industry. Even in a depression, oil must be shipped from here to there right? While they did cut their quarterly dividend by 18%, the next dividend is scheduled to be 59-cents and we are already past Q1 earnings. While an 18% dividend cut may have disappointed existing shareholders and sent the stock back down to $11.09, .56 times 4 is $2.24 a year - that’s a 21% dividend! Teekay Tankers Ltd. (TNK) is a great unknown tanker stock that currently flies under the radar. It pays a quarterly dividend that is >12% yield. It may be best to play this stock as a trading vehicle, but holding it for the dividend makes sense too.
