Take Two Interactive makes some of the biggest video games played across all consoles. The first video game they make worth noting is the Grand Theft Auto Series (GTA). As of today, GTA marked the biggest videogame opening of all time with about $400 million in first week sales, alone. That's big. They also make Bioshock, which is THE most acclaimed videogame made for all consoles. It has won countless awards for its creativity and gameplay. An interesting blurb in the New York Times in one of the sectors still exhibiting relatively decent (non government) performance in the U.S. - video games.  Electronic Arts (ERTS) just seems to have lost its way - and judging by its stock, it seems to have missed the notice that we're in a new bull market.




Meanwhile Activision Blizzard (ATVI) took the reigns of leadership during this last console cycle - however the stock has fallen off a cliff of late, and really has been range bound.

GameStop (GME) shares are losing ground this morning on continued weakness in the video game software sector.

After the close yesterday, market research firm NPD Group reported that September U.S. video game sector revenue inched up 1% in September on a year-over-year basis, snapping a string of six months with year-over-year declines, including a 5% rise in software sales, offset by a 6% drop in hardware revenue.

Take-Two Slides; Webush Turns Cautious

Take-Two Interactive (TTWO) shares are trading lower after Morgan Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter cut his rating on the stock this morning to Neutral from Outperform. He keeps a $13 price target on the stock, which closed Friday at $11.73.

“In our view, the company’s share price fully reflects an increasingly positive outlook and the lack of other company specific catalysts,” he writes. Pachter sees no significant news coming for the video game company until it releases BioShock 2 in February. He contends investors “may be disappointed by the company’s holiday lineup.”
