On Jan 28 Cirrus reported quarterly results that included $65.2 billion in revenue, up 49%. Earnings per shares came in at 17 cents, a penny better than expected.

The results drove estimate higher. The Zacks Consensus Estimate is 32 cents for fiscal 2010, up 11 cents. Forecasts for next year are averaging 54 cents for this Zacks Rank #2, up from 43 cents.

These estimates project year over year growth of 351% and 70%, respectively.

Veeco makes instruments for manufactures of solar, data storage, semiconductors, HB_LED, scientific research and industrial products. Factories are located across the U.S. it has offices domestically, as well as in Europe and Asia.

Record-Setting Revenues

On Feb 8 Veeco reported quarterly results that showed record revenues of $146 million, up from $110 million. Net income also jumped, to $18.7 million, up from a $74 million loss.

Few companies can match the growth of Veeco Instruments (VECO). The company produces MOCVD chambers – that’s metal organic chemical vapour deposition chambers, to be precise – which are used to make compound semiconductors, thin film solar cells and, most importantly, light emitting diodes (LEDs).

The company competes with Aixtron, a German listed company and Jusung Engineering, listed in South Korea. Aixtron is far and away the market leader with about a 70% share of global sales.
