Details on Vonage coming Feb. 13th, this is going to be a make or break moment for the next 6 months. All of tech is getting hit, but VG did not expect to realise profits until Q1 '08. The service is stellar and if run rates can be trimmed and real profits put on the table, you are looking at a serious contender or a definite purchase by someone who knows this company is pretty much *the* VOIP company with the most general penetration.

I rate this as a high risk since even though they have settled most of the outstanding legal issues, they have little cash on hand and seem to be plag...

Vonage is a piece of sh*t company and bringing back rich boy JEFF CITRON isn't going to help.

Vonage Holdings Corp. CEO Michael Snyder resigned, the company said Thursday, at the same time announcing moves to cut costs.

Snyder resigned, and also quit the company's board of directors, Wednesday. Chairman and Chief Strategist Jeffrey A. Citron will fill in as CEO until a replacement is found.

The company announced plans to cut its costs by $140 million, including $110 million in marketing unnecessary expenses, in order to become more competitive.

No I am not writing about Vonage as a value stock but instead it is an obvious and blatant value trap. Today Todd Weiss of Computer World writes

April 12, 2007 (Computerworld) — With much of Vonage Holdings Corp.’s future already clouded by a losing fight in a recent patent infringement case that threatens its business, Michael F. Snyder, CEO of the broadband telephone service provider, resigned, effective yesterday.

In an announcement this morning, the company said that Snyder “stepped down” and was replaced by Vonage Chairman Jeffrey A. Citron, who will act as interim CEO.

Vonage has been going through tough times lately. It is on the losing end of a patent lawsuit with Verizon communications. Verizon has accused Vonage of infringing several of its VOIP related patents. The company was slammed with an injunction on Friday morning that prevented it from adding new customers. However, Vonage got some mild reprieve on Friday evening when the injunction was temporarily lifted. Vonage will have 2 weeks to convince the court to stay the injunction.
