<> What this company can do is mind-blowing to say the least and I won't be the first to say I don't 100% understand it. The jest of it; they can create virtualized hardware, folks if that’s not exciting I don't know what is?! Computers that can run multiple operating systems and sync perfectly! Cisco Systems (CSCO), EMC (EMC) and VMware (VMW) are teaming up to sell hardware and software for cloud computing, the companies announced today. The three firms are creating something called the Virtual Computing Environment coalition, “to accelerate customers’ ability to increase business agility through greater IT infrastructure flexibility, and lower IT, energy and real-estate costs through pervasive data center virtualization and a transition to private cloud infrastructures.”

Cisco and EMC link up in the clouds

Neither company is saying a thing yet, but word is Cisco Systems (NASDAQ: CSCO) and EMC (NYSE: EMC) are joining up to sell a new collection of products designed to deliver cloud computing capabilities, Reuters reports. Called vBlock, the cloud solution is intended to help the companies compete more effectively with IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Hewlett-Packard (NYSE: HPQ).

VMware (VMW) shares are coming under early selling pressure after Goldman Sachs analyst Derek Bingham cut his rating on the virtualization software stock to Neutral from Buy, as the stock approached his $44 price target.

“We remain bullish on longer-term opportunities for incremental upside for VMware – in particular, newer virtualization management products and virtual desktop,” he writes. “However, our initial work does not suggest enough upside to continue to lift our price target, and the company’s valuation premium is significant at 36X CY10 EPS.”
