VMWare , which was recently spun off from EMC, makes virtualization software. Don't be embarrassed. You're not the only person who was ignorant of what this is. In layman's terms, virtualization software makes it possible to run several operating systems and applications on the same computer at the same time. A common use of virtualization software is consolidating server space.

absurd expectation from a limited products

this company is great, it has got a winner product, we have implemented in our company and we could not be more happier.
but its not worth more than 25 billion (i guess stock price of around $60)
i do not expect this company to make more than $1bln in income /profits even in 2009 (after 2009 all bets are off, there will be some competition eating into its existing market share).
right now its highly overpriced
in the short run though i expect this to go all the way to $120 based on limited supply of stocks and too much hype. cheaper way to play on this stock...
