So, I’ve been writing a lot the last few days about the stunning run-up in shares of Vonage (VG).

But it isn’t just Vonage. A whole bunch of micro-cap telecom stocks are on a tear for reasons that so far are not entirely clear to me. Consider this list:

NextWave (WAVE) CFO Francis Harding said his company knows of no reason for the sharp rise in the price of the company’s stock price today.

NextWave is in the middle of a  restructuring program that will re-focus its business on two areas: its PacketVideo mobile software units and its U.S. wireless spectrum assets. But Harding said in an interview with Tech Trader Daily that there is nothing new to report on that process.

WAVE shares today are up 13 cents, or 33.3%, to 52 cents.

Live television programming is on its way to Apple's (AAPL) iPhone. But the big questions are: Where? And is anyone going to pay for it?

Digital video company PacketVideo says it's done with its mobile video app for the iPhone, which it will offer to carriers to sell their own branded mobile TV services.

PacketVideo, a division of NextWave Wireless (WAVE), says to "expect to see a major mobile operator launch this application within 6-8 weeks." But a PacketVideo rep wouldn't disclose if it would be AT&T (T), the iPhone's exclusive U.S. carrier.

If you are a Blackberry (RIMM) user, you are familiar with the fact that emails containing HTML links (graphics) don’t display the graphics, but rather cause you to have to scroll down past that jibberish HTML text. It’s ugly and annoying, but those of us who are engineering-minded know the reason we have to suffer through this sub-optimal experience: bandwidth. By stripping each email of all of those colors and pictures, less bandwidth is utilized.
