even though they could take the stock higher i believe the stock is do for a flush. There is a feeling of manipulation, like they are trying to walk up the price. I also get the feeling like there is bad news looming. They said that they are reducing prices even further in china on needed items. So i see this eating into margin. I believe they are also doing this to try and gain business/ market share. Price wars are never good for businesses over a certain time period. How long that period can be is anyones guess. I believe wmt is fortunate and the only reason it does as well as it does is...

The dollar has clearly been under pressure this year. Most of the graphs of it that you have seen probably look like the first graph below, which shows what the dollar has done against two indexes since the start of the year. The blue line is how the greenback has fared against the major currencies like the Euro and the Yen, and the red line includes those, but also looks at how it has fared against a much broader collection of currencies.

The price war between Amazon (AMZN) and Wal-Mart (WMT) over best-selling books got a lot of press recently. It hasn't done Barnes & Noble (BKS) shares any good.

Never mind that Barnes & Noble is working closely with Wal-Mart and that best-sellers account for only 3 to 5 percent of BKS' sales. Conventional wisdom says that BKS is the second coming of dinosaur Blockbuster Video (BBI).
