TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says seasonality is finally working in our favor.
Here's a new one: I don't trust the futures, but this time on the downside. We could get giant cuts from Europe and the Brits this week and given that it is international trade that is weighing us down, I would think that the declines we all ...
Intel is seeing price levels not seen since 1996. Dividend yield near 4%. This is the type of stock you'd buy, and let sit, give it to the kids. Collect dividend income at retirement (and INTC has consistently increased its dividend), so who cares about Social Security. I'm 30, I know I won't see Social Security when i retire. It'll be a great way to impress friends at bday parties.
Emerging economies becoming new markets in the coming decades for personal computers will begin a new renaissance in earnings growth. And I (humbly representing developed economies) recently just r
i chose this as a market neutral pick to pair with hpq (which i would short sell) given the 20% varience in price when compared with hpq over the past year. The two have nearly identicle price graphs over the past year, but intc is currenty devalued when compared to hpq; i believe that this will correct within 3 months, regardless of where the market is heading. That is long intc, short hpq for a 20% profit.
"The decline in the price of Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) is disconcerting, but on balance, not a surprise," says tech guru Paul McWilliams.
Here, in his Next Inning newsletter, the advisor reassesses his forecast for Intel and the tech sector made at the start of the year, and his continued optimism for the stock's future performance.
"In January, I initially concluded that mature global economies were likely going to exhibit slow growth in 2008 and may dip through a recession.
"However, I also had forecast that emerging economies wer
TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says all that money has to go somewhere, and this is a likely destination.
Clash of the ideals! Oil's down, and what can you buy when there's so much bad bank news? What can you buy when Wachovia (NYSE: WB) (Cramer's Take) is boosting reserves and Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS)) (Cramer's Take) is still being pursued by authorities and JPMorgan (NYSE: JPM) (C...
The market is getting killed today, but a bright spot amidst the turmoil is Intel (INTC) which is up about 4% on twice its normal volume. This is mostly after a Citigroup analyst came out with bullish comments about orders of its Atom chip. Even AMD, Intel’s incompetent rival is gaining some ground in this bad tape. The NASDAQ was green for a large portion of the day and is still dramatically outperforming the other indices despite being down. This could be seen as a bullish divergence.
TheStreet.com's Jim Cramer says when the dust settles, we'll notice the reduced equity here, and stocks will rise to reflect it.
Do corporate balance sheets matter? One of the things that you will see in the next few weeks is everyday industrial companies brimming with cash. Y...
7/3 - "NVDA cited end-market weakness for the lower forecast, which could be a bad sign for INTC. If you think this stock won't be rising too far in the coming months, then it could be a good time to look at a bearish hedged play on INTC."
"I would consider an August bear-call credit spread above the $23 range. A bear-call credit spread is an options position that combines the purchase and sale of call options to hedge risk in case the stock doesn't do what you think but still leverage nice returns. For this particular trade, we will make a 13.0% return in six weeks as long as INTC is belo...

Holy Dow: Wal-Mart (WMT)
Thursday saw a market-wide rally and with a triple-digit jump for the Dow on news of stronger consumer confidence. WMT reached a four-year high thanks to government stimulus checks. Guy Adami predicts the S&P 500 will surpass its point of resistance and reach 1410. Pete Najarian said the market-wide bullishness was “unbelieveable” and couldn’t account for it. Guy Adami pointed to record short interest in May, and says commodities and equities are coming back. Jeff Macke thinks investors are tired of bad news
Intel’s (INTC) anti-trust problems are all over the papers recently. In South Korea, anti-trust regulators have just fined Intel $25.5 million for anti-competitive practices (a judgement that Intel will appeal). In Europe, the anti-trust regulators are expected to conclude their investigations and issue a judgement soon. And in the US, the FTC has just formally opened an investigation into Intel’s business practices, after sitting on the anti-trust case filed by AMD (AMD) back in 2005 for more than 2 years. Despite losing money hand over fist recently, AMD has not relented on its strategy o
Readers of this space know that the investment bias is toward large-cap companies with demonstrated business models and a competitive advantage in established markets, preferably with a favorable global trend as a support. With this in mind, Intel is worth an evaluation.
Intel (NASDAQ: INTC) is the world's largest semiconductor maker, as measured by revenue and unit shipments, and is the dominant microprocessor manufacturer for personal computers.
In general, analysts expect F2008 revenue to increase 5-7%, after an 8% increase in F2007. The conventional...

Texas Instruments (TXN) On Texas Instruments' disappointing quarter, Pete Najarian said the competition in chips is too intense and Nokia and Ericsson are looking for other suppliers. Jeff Macke does not think TXN is worth it from the long or short view and says it has managed to lose every business it has been involved in.
I wrote a ton of research and analysis this week. All trying to find a good story to begin the process of moving the huge cash position we have created for client accounts to something worthwhile. No need for me to tell you about the markets or the economic environment. If you have been conscience, you are well aware as to the reasons I have been hoarding cash… Take a look at these:
