Sinopec's refining and marketing division has managed to stay profitable overall with oil prices at an average purchased oil price of $70-$80. However the current oil price even with successful hedging will have drastically impeded the profitability of this division. On this basis there is likely to be heavy losses in this division throughout the year despite government subsidies.
