Minimum Amount to Start Investing 03/16/08
Hey everyone - over on another forum a question has been raised on what the min amount to start a portfolio is. I have heard 2k, 10k, and 25k.

My personal opinion is 10k - otherwise you have higher ROI in paying off your car or house. If you cant pay to play - dont.

Unless you are actively part of that subculture I would advise to stay away. You need to be very entrenched in social networks to hear the rumor mill of buying interest before everyone else does and inflates the stock. The acquisition of MySQL is definitely something to watch, but will not significantly change anything with Sun or Java related companies. In my mind, this is just a chance for a very popular OSS database company to sell out for millions so big daddy can brand their name against it.
