Clevland ROCKS! Clevland ROCKS! Clevland ROCKS!... besides the obscure reference to the Drew Carrey show, been watching this stock for a while. Good management and an established compnay. The metals se

Re: Why the financial sector is going a lot lower 08/29/08
It is scary how bad the potential downside is, however we have to remember this is just cyclical like any other market cycle. Yes it will get worse, probably much worse, but it will eventually get better. There is a lot of downside to come but not to the degree some people are claiming. Whenever we enter bear markets people claim the sky is falling... whenever we hit bull markets the sky is...

Great Result, Stock Pounded, Oppurtunity 08/21/08
GME just posted .34 earnings for this quarter topping most of the streets expectations. However due to lower yearly guiandance and growth expectations (see my previous post on gme) the stock has been pounded today. This is exact scenario happened last quarter as well. The management at GME is very conservative and have taken an approach to keep expectations curbed as they know they can not k...

Re: Goldman Undervalued 08/20/08
Although I am sure most of you data may be correct, never base you decision based on anything with the title "free" in it. There are thousands of analyst doing "Paid" valuation on GS and based on that we get the value GS is at now. 1 Also most of stock price can be explained by two things: Fear and lies in the finacial sector, right now no candidate can be trusted. 2 Slowing of potential...

Re: Help Finding The Best Shorts 08/13/08
Another Criteria/Trait to look for is a stock with low correlation or more importantly low positive correlation to major indices.

Help Finding The Best Shorts 08/13/08
Although the best and potentially most profitable way of investing in stocks (excluding derivatives) is to go long, as your potential gains are unlimited. However the option to go short on a stock is relatively attractive for several reasons: 1 it is a hedge for your porfolio during recession and drops in the stock market. 2 it is generally easier to value something as being "poor" and being ...

Re: Recent Stock Ralley is all Smoke and Mirrors 08/12/08
Large cap, well established companies like GE, P&G, and even some of the large Miners are all great LONG term plays, however right now I would be very very hawkish about placing any money in to a stock unless your comfortable just buying and forgetting about it for 3yrs+. Although a lot of stock look extremely cheap, you have to realize that during econmic recession not only do earnings dro...

Re: Why have i done so well? one word 08/08/08
Your method is over simplified. Unless you have some type of superior knowledge (aka insider information) about the deal, then you entire theory of investing is really just gambling. When it comes to merger deals the market it rather efficent. If a take over/merger occurs where Company A pay 25$ per share for company B's stock and the stock is only trading at 22.50$ then the likelyhood the deal...

Recent Stock Ralley is all Smoke and Mirrors 08/08/08
Recently the major indices have been rebounding a decent amount despite the overall economic situtations. Have we hit a bottom, is it time to start backing up the truck to load up on all those now cheap stocks? Quite frankly it is more than likely that we have only seen a little more then half of the downturn. It is typical of most recessions to take 30% or more off the high, which would pu...

Re: BBW not going anywhere fast. 08/05/08
BBW has been in a persistant downward trend and really has nothing special to bring it out from the rest of the crowd. Beside the fact that once you enter the store you get this overwhelmingly uncomfortable feeling if your over the age of 14, the fact is this seems very much like a fad to me and I feel a down market will only hurt not help it. That atleast is my opinion.

Re: Credit Crunch withdrawal?!?! 08/05/08
Trying to call the bottom to the finacials and banks is a foolish game with too much risk and not near enough return. Yes many banks will most likely make it through this rough patch and come 10 years from now may be at their previous highs, which in many cases will be a 3-5x return (not bad by any means over 10years), however for a more intermediate, 1-3 year term it is anyones guess which ban...
